When designing clamping devices, the question of deformations at different clamping pressures is often relevant. By simulating the clamping device in the concept phase, the deformations can be determined and structurally optimized accordingly.

This post shows how to build the calculation model by using library parts in Meshparts. The clamping pressures are varied accordingly so that the deformation of the workpiece is minimal. The maximum deformation could be reduced by 28% - with the same overall clamping force.
