UI

  • New general setting: Color theme (bright or dark).
  • Improved part offsets frame which now turns orange, if changing the offsets is not recomended for that part.
  • The context menu now reacts when pressing the key 1 on the keyboard, which then selects the part selected geometry item.
  • Moved Topology Optimization tool from Home frame to assembly parameters frame.
  • New button "Expand to circle" available in the result path of report generator which will expand three path points to a circle arc.
  • New button "Open output" available in the Tasks window for currently running meshing processes.
  • New button "Export" available for "Contact Forces", "Spring Forces" and "Reaction Forces" that exports all results sets data to an Excel file.
  • New button "Refresh" available in the macro file frame in order to update the cache data of the macro parameters.
  • New buttons "Weak spring", "Ideal spring", "Remove spring" available in the joint properties of an LBC.
  • New color blind friendly color scheme for contour plots: "Viridis".
  • New feature "Remember selection" available in model tree context menu.
  • New feature allows to reposition the 3D legend by drag mouse action.
  • New button in "Contact properties" outputs the resulting contact surface color to the user.
  • New keyboard shortcut "Shift P" for collapse of parent items in model tree.

  • New option "Ignore subassemblies" available in validation of misplaced connections.
  • New option when updating assembly to block the remeshing of outdated parts.
  • New option LinExt available in the new CAD import window.
  • New "Active time step" option in the LBC properties frame alowes to edit the LBCs options for indivitual time steps. Also, the force phase or convection bulk temperature can now be specified for each individual time step.
  • New setting "Parse colors from STEP files" available. When turned off, large STEP assemblies will be parsed orders of magnitude faster but colors will not be available. So this option is incompatible with the colors based nodal set definition.
  • New Sync tool option "upload and delete local" available.
  • New imperial units available.

Connections

  • Changed logic for bonded contact presets in the case of cylindrical contact, where the Formulation now defaults to MPC instead of penalty.
  • Changed logic when computing the automatic location of joint nodes: moved to be coincident in the middle between joint surfaces.
  • MPC contact forces are now written to the solution files.
  • Bolts pretension now supports mathematical expressions combined with the %_FIX% keyword.

Meshing

  • Improved GMSH macro template for CAD import by new parameters for orthotropic behavior. Reordered the macro parameters, remove some very rarely used parameters (MTYPE, FixSmallEdges, MMT).
  • Improved GMSH template for CAD import to support multi surface parts.
  • Improved GMSH template by new option MSADAPT which controls global mesh size on multi body parts.

Materials

  • New elastomere material Fibroflex.
  • New Material "Grease" available for thermal simulations.
  • New ad_soil.mac macro for modeling of soil.
  • The material S500MC has now temperature dependent elasticity modulus.

Solution

  • The Topology optimization tool now supports the Permas solver and it's also the recommended solver for topology optimizations.
  • Improved topology optimization which will output all elements with relative densities between 0.5 and 1.0 to topoad_elems.cdb. You can use the new button "Open model" to show it in a new tab.
  • New macro ad_radiation.mac available as a macro before solution to apply thermal radiation to selected nodes.

Postprocessing

  • New function available to plot selected items over all available results sets in contact forces, reaction forces, springs forces.
  • New results system type "X parallel to path" available in report generator.
  • New function allows to visualize results according to settings in the report generator for elements of type "Deformed result".
  • New feature "Linearized stress" available in Report Generator.
  • New extended logic for the live solution setting: Now, the report generator is automatically executed when the solution is finished.
  • New strength computation tool DIN EN 13445 available for pressure vessels.
  • New result type "MohrCoulomb StaticUtilization" available, which is suitable for brittle materials like concrete.
  • New result type "Reaction Forces" available.
