1. Changed default contact stiffness

Changed default contact stiffness value from 1.0 tp -10e12 (from relative scaling factor to absolute value). This value is based on measurements of the real contact stiffness of milled steel surfaces.

2. Changed default value of the maximum number of substeps

Changed default value of the maximum number of substeps of load steps. Value changed from 1 to 10. The new default value increases the chances of solution convergence for complicated nonlinear models.

3. Removed MSMART option

Removed MSMART parameter from the GMSH macro template and CAD import dialog. This change will have no effect on the meshing results.

4. Auto contact trim radius

New contact trim radius value "auto" available. The default value of the contact trim radius is now "off" (a value of 0 has the same effect). When changed to "auto", the contact trim radius is automatically computed to 2x the maximum element size of the contacted parts.

5. Transpose 2D plots

New transpose option available in the report generator for result path plots. The new option is usefull when you want to plot the results over the time instead over the path length.

6. Add parts to the current visibility set

With Shift + Drag&Drop from model tree to the 3D area you can now add hidden parts to the current set of visible parts.

7. Swipe over buttons

For some specific sets of checkbuttons there is a new "Swipe" with the left mouse button action available. The Swipe action quickly toggles the state of checkbuttons (on/off). These are the supported button sets:

  • Model tree filter
  • Model file parameters
  • DOF filter in Load step editor
  • DOF options in LBC properties

8. Quickly select parts

The new button in the quick access frame selects the parts that contain the selected geometry items.

9. Evaluate the strain energy

New result type strain energy density available. The strain energy density is equal to the strain energy divided by the finite element volume. The strain energy is interesting for identification of loaded areas in a model.

10. Copy 2D plots

New "Copy XY data" and "Copy image" buttons available in all 2D plots (e.g. plots created by result paths or Bode tool).

11. Load step dependent parameters

A new persistent assembly parameter "current_loadstep" is now availabele. The parameter reflects the currently loaded solution load step. It can be used for e.g. result paths that "move" with the load step.

12. Coriolis effects in modal analysis

A new solution setting "Coriolis" is now available for modal analysis.v

13. Kill meshing process

Improved logic of the "Kill process" button for GMSH meshing process, which now also aborts further meshing attempts of the same part.

14. Find in model tree

Improved logic of "Find" function in tree. Now, hidden relation and LBCs item are ignored by this function.

15. Assembly validation with blind rivets

Add support for Blind Rivets in the assembly validation, similar to bolts validation. Currently the only library containing blind rivets can be found under https://www.meshparts.de/SpecialComponents/HUCK

16. Show results extremes

Improved function that shows min and max values in result plots, which now takes only visible parts into account.

17. Report generator

Improved Report Generator to handle parameters in the entry items.

18. Bode plotter

Improved Bode plotter, which can now permanently remember the curve colors.

19. Contact generation

Improved logic of automatic generation of connections. When the "only visible" option is combined with the "Delete old connections" option, only old connections with both corresponding parts visible are deleted.
